Briefly Brisk In Texas

We did have a few cold days that required us to break out our coats. Thus we had to make a trip to Home Depot to get a small coat rack to hang by the door.

We thought about getting an axe so we could chop would for our fire place--That is until Colton saw what Malea looks like holding one... 

We did eventually find the coat rack we went for. And it works great!

We also picked up a rack o' ribs to cook while we were at church. They turned out so tasty! Colton has them down to perfection! :)

Colton also sacrificed the fingers on his right hand to get a small cactus clipping to start. It's as pokery as it looks!

At any given time, Colton has several little clippings in cups trying to start some roots.

Sometimes we clean the fridge out and make breakfast burritos! It may look questionable, but Colton is a super good burrito maker too! :)

Colton also occasionally attends meetings where they serve tasty food!

And do group activities.

And sometimes, Colton brings his dessert home to share with his favorite wife! :)

And even though it did get into the 30's here, we still had roses blooming!

Since Malea is a working girl now, she had to get some nice shoes that weren't flip-flops to wear to work. Yeah, everyone at work is jealous of her shoes!

Colton also loves LED candles.

We also got a Hyacinth to brighten and freshen up our apartment.

As it bloomed, it smelled amazing!

Back to Texas

After two weeks of fun, we had to head back to work and real life...

We had a layover in Phoenix. When we pushed out from the gate, our jets didn't fire up, so they pulled us back in and the mechanics had to come clear the plane. 

It set us back about 30-45 minutes. We watched them load several planes next to us before we were finally ready to go.

Then we had to wait our turn in line.

And boy was there a line!

Once we were in there air, everything was good, and we flew over some cool rugged mountains.

As we approached the landing strip, there was another little plane trying to beat us to it!

Oh wait, that was just our shadow... Phew!

Only a few days later, Malea started her new job as a Proposal Support Specialist with a small Government Contracting company called DTSI. (That was January 5th to be exact...)

New Year's in Levan

We spent New Year's in Levan.

We helped take down all the Christmas decorations.

And undecorated the Christmas tree and put away the bows...well most of them... ;)

Malea's best friend Angee brought her cute baby Taylor down to visit and have dinner one evening. Taylor was trying out the Hot Air Balloon mobile Malea made.

Friends forever!

Then Meghan, her mom, and the girls stopped over on their way back through to Cali.

Noa and Rorie had to check out all of the cool toys!

They could have spent hours playing Loopin' Louy with Aunt Mia.

Daddy K cooked eggs on the stove for us one morning.

Rorie and Noa were playing, then Malea walked in just in time for this!

Then we took a drive down to Yuba to check out the ice. We saw this big awesome hawk on the way down.

The water is very low. Nothing even remotely close to the spillway.

It's Cold!

Malea was the only one brave enough to cross the creaking ice and go through the spillway tunnel to see the other side. Panoramic view from "the other side..."

We didn't have Andrea to make a good video for us...

But Daddy K and Colton did their best.

"Help, he has fallen and can't get up..." Actually he was taking some cool pictures.

Colton got some great shots of the ice crystals that formed on the ice.

The ice was very clear and you could see the rocks on the bottom.

We also discovered something really awesome while trying to break the ice.

That night, we went to see Night at the Museum 3. It was very fun and pretty cute!

While there, we made sure to make good use of the new 4-wheeler! :)

Someone left Mom a little Christmas gift that we didn't find on the front porch until it was frozen solid!

We attended the funeral for Sam Thompson, a good friend of Malea's from high school, who passed away unexpectedly. It was an emotional day, but we followed it up with a trip to the temple.

We also took a trip to the Manti Temple. We spent most of the day there. We did initiatories, sealings, and a session.

It was a beautiful day.

Colton and Daddy K put a bolt back on to hold the plastic in place.
